List of S.L. Benfica players

S.L. Benfica is a professional football team based in Lisbon, Portugal. Benfica was formed in Belém in 1904 as ''Sport Lisboa'', and played their first competitive match on 4 November 1906, when they entered the 1906–07 Campeonato de Lisboa. The club was renamed ''Sport Lisboa e Benfica'' in 1908 after a club merger, and moved to the Estádio da Luz in 1954. Since their first competitive match, more than 750 players have made a competitive first-team appearance for the club, of whom almost 130 players have made at least 100 appearances; about 250 made at least 25 appearances, both are listed below, separately. Additionally, a list of notable players, recognized by the club itself is listed.
Benfica's record appearance-maker is Nené, who made 575 appearances over the course of his career; the second player with more appearances is António Veloso with 538. Eusébio is the club's top goalscorer with 474 goals in his 15 years with the club. Nine players have made more than 400 appearances, including four members of the 1961 European Cup-winning team. Other than Eusébio, only two players have scored more than 300 goals for the club.
